One advantage of having a blog is that you (the public) can add your thoughts on what I write. There are several ways for you to comment on my blog posts:

Comments Form

After each blog post, you will find a form. Fill this in and your comment will be sent to the moderation queue. I then read the comment, and if its suitable, I will approve it.

There are several details you will need to fill in for this:

  • Name: Can be your real name, or a nick name.
  • E-mail Address: This needs to be a real e-mail address and is required. I will be able to contact you if needed (for example, if you have a query and I need to respond to it).
  • Your Comment: Type in your message/comment. Remember that once approved, anyone viewing the page will be able to see your comment so no abusive/libellous/rude comments are allowed – otherwise I will delete them.

You may also fill in your website, if you have one. Your name will act as a link to your website. If you don’t have one, leave it blank.

You can also sign up to Gravatar if you’d like an image to appear next to your name.

Twitter

This website has its own page on Twitter. The feed itself is automated, but I log in daily to check for messages.

However unless other Twitter users make the effort to search around, they will not be able to see (and therefore add their input to) your comments.

Therefore, any suitable Tweet which I recieve in reply to a blog update will be copied into this blog – your name will appear as a direct link to your Tweet.

Facebook

This website has its own fanpage on Facebook, and blog updates are posted to the feed regularly.

Fans are able to comment on the updates… and as with the Twitter I will copy relevent comments into this blog in order to allow non-facebook users to see your comments.

Your name will appear as a link to your profile – both these pieces of information I will take from your Facebook comment.

I have no examples of Facebook comments pulled accross to this blog yet! (Maybe you could become the first example!?)

But there are some rules you must follow…

  • I don’t mind if you use a screen name, but don’t use a nonsense screen name such as “sdfgsgh” – it will only be picked up by my spam blocker and I’ll delete it straight away. If you genuinely have something to say which contributes to the discussion on the blog, you won’t be ashamed of your own name!
  • As I mentioned earlier, anyone viewing the website will be able to see your comment so no abusive/libellous/rude comments are allowed – if they are abusive I will delete them and block your access to the website.
  • Swearing will be edited out.
  • Stick to the topic, and write something meaningful!

All these rules also apply to Twitter and Facebook comments!
